iMahina 2024 Lunisolar Calendar

The iMahina calendar is lunisolar; it presents information from the lunar-based Hawaiian calendar and the solar-based Gregorian calendar (plus astronomical data).

The calendar begins with the rise of Makali’i, which occurs in ‘Ikuwā or Welehu (Oct. or Nov.) and features other important astronomical and celestial events, such as Mahakiki, Winter/Summer Solstice, Fall/Spring Equinox, Lāhina noon, and earliest sunrise and sunset. Unless otherwise noted, all event times are Hawaiian Standard Time (HST or GMT-10).

iMahina is meant to be a starting point, so find and use other credible source material, and go outside to kilo––observe your broader ecosystem holistically and curiously!

This full color poster is printed on 80# satin stock and measures 24” x 36”
